RouteEffect

Earlier this week, I released RouteEffect, a new app for iOS, iPadOS, and maOS to control video routers such as Blackmagic Design Videohub routers. You can read my official announcement on my personal blog here or check out the documentation website for complete information on how to use the app.

RouteEffect comes in two flavors. Click on the links before to see the apps in the App Store:

  • RouteEffect: Free to download with subscription to unlock premium features. Also available is a trial for testing our premium features committing to a subscription.
  • RouteEffect Pro: Paid up-front with all premium features unlocked.

It gives you multiple ways to view and manage your routers, powerful automation abilities through presets and Shortcuts, virtual outputs that combine multiple outputs into one, and deep customization of your inputs and outputs with icons, short labels, and colors.

A standout feature in RouteEffect is its ability to simulate almost any Videohub video router, from the small Videohub Mini 4×2 12G to the massive Videohub 120×120 12G. The apps gives you the ability to practice your video routing skills while offline. When you’re back at your home office or event space, you can transfer the configuration changes you’ve made to the simulator back to the real Videohub.

Put simply, RouteEffect does for video routers what MixEffect does for ATEM live production switchers.
