MixEffect Vision Demo for Apple Vision Pro

At the VisionDevCamp hackathon at the of March, 2024, I created MixEffect Vision, a branch off of MixEffect Pro that runs natively on Apple Vision Pro. It is nowhere near release, having been written in just one day, but it shows what can be possible when you bringing the physical into the virtual world. Video production specialists can arrange the layouts of their control surfaces the way they want, not in a hardware-enforced (though optimized) format.

In the video, I show off a virtual ATEM switcher connected to an ATEM Mini Extreme ISO and an ATEM 2 M/E Constellation HD. New to the virtual switcher is a T-Bar (flat, admittedly, but that was due to time, not desire), dedicated buttons for four SuperSource presets, and two, count them two, DSK On Air toggle buttons. Longtime owners of MixEffect may recall that the reason I created MixEffect was because the ATEM Mini lacked a hardware button for toggling the downstream keyer.

I don’t have an Apple Vision Pro yet, and all of my work this weekend was done using the Simulator. I have nothing to announce with regards to possible release dates for MixEffect Vision, but be assured that it will be on my mind!
